England face the Chinese team – Women's Friendly Match
Preamble
Hello and welcome to the non-competitive match between the English side and China at London’s Wembley. This promises to be an exciting contest with the reigning European champions taking on the reigning Asia Cup winners.
The home of English football is fully booked for the occasion, which will see the celebrated Fran Kirby honored pre-match after her retirement from the national team before the Euros this past summer.
Lineup details will be revealed soon, but there was a late squad update for England. On Friday, Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a minor injury, and so previous starter Ellie Roebuck has been called up.
With Hannah Hampton out of action, it will be interesting to see who the Lionesses' coach Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. Those details along with further updates are coming up before kick-off at 5:30 in the evening GMT.
Lineup Announcements
The lineups have been announced. Anna Moorhouse is the starting keeper for England in the unavailability of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.
The Lionesses: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.
Substitutes: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.
Details are being sought for the squad from China now; once it is available, I will post it.
Captaincy Update
Keira Walsh is captaining the Lionesses with Leah Williamson still injured. These were her comments before this encounter:

Debut Alert
The upcoming fixture will be Anna Moorhouse’s maiden cap for England. She featured in the Euro-winning side who claimed victory this past summer, but she did not feature with Hannah Hampton in the first-choice keeper position.
