Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early names in the frame to succeed the former manager as head coach of Wolves.

The 42-year-old is said to have backing from the club board as they begin the process of hiring a fresh head coach.

Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise candidate, although he would be a shock choice considering he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.

The former West Ham United midfielder is out of work which means the club would not need to provide any compensation.
