Aryna Sabalenka finished the year with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second consecutive season.

The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Year of Consistency

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Statistics

Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and earned a historic eleven million pounds in earnings.

She garnered almost 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a higher level".
