Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.
Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
A representative for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards women.
The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
