British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two dear friends.”
