American performer Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, including:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
